Since I’m fresh from vacation and still have the beach on the brain, a post on beach houses seems in order! I always say that one day I will own a beach house of my own. I love everything about the beach…the sun, the sand, the surf…there’s just something about a being near a beach setting that puts me at ease. If I were lucky enough to live right on the ocean I’d want to design my home to include lots of floor-to-ceiling windows which allow me to enjoy the sweeping oceanview vistas …

I absolutely love ethnic inspired textiles, particularly prints and patterns that are emblematic of Central Asian countries like India, Turkey, Uzbekistan, etc. I especially have a thing for Indian paisleys and florals. Here are some of my favorites:

And despite the common feeling …

So I’m back after my week long vacay in the Dominican Republic. With a lot going on in my personal life combined with the stresses of my demanding job and the daily rigors of living in New York, I really needed to get away and this trip is just what the doctor ordered! The island was beautiful and I took great pleasure in being a beach bum all week.

A few months before Domino folded I heard some gossip that the magazine had recently shot the home of socialite and fashion PR maven Annelise Peterson. A frequent boldfaced name, Peterson spent years in New York working in the PR offices of top fashion brands such as Calvin Klein, Valentino and Alberta Ferretti before moving to LA to launch her own fashion and lifestyle consulting firm earlier this year. Today marks the 28th year of my existence!! I celebrated over the weekend with a fun rooftop party. Tonight after work I’m keeping it low key. Dinner at a great Indian restaurant plus a trip to the movies to see Julie & Julia. My idea of a perfect night! As a birthday gift to myself I am taking a trip to La Romana in the Dominican Republic. I’m going with my brother, sister-in-law and this little guy:
