10 Inspiring Bedrooms

A couple of weeks ago my apartment suffered an unfortunate calamity. A neighbor on the fourth floor of my building had a radiator pipe burst causing ridiculous amounts of water to flood his apartment and subsequently ALL the apartments below it…including mine. I wasn’t home when it happened. My bedroom ceiling and walls were severely damaged and starting to cave by the time I discovered the mess and my year-old mattress which I loved to death was soaked all the way down to the box spring (had to throw it out and buy a new one). The saddest part is …

Home Sweet Home: Billy and Katie Lee Joel

Did anyone catch yesterday’s Oprah? If you did then you saw Billy Joel’s very young wife giving Oprah viewers a tour of she and her husband’s super chic, Nate Berkus-designed townhouse in Manhattan’s West Village. TO DIE FOR! One piece in the home I really love is a black lacquered antique buffet cabinet reveals a surprising hot pink interior when you open its doors. Such a great idea. …

I have to admit that when I first saw some of her scupltures, particularly the ones you see above that look like clusters of …

Inside Housing Works’ West Village location

They sell everything from clothes and jewelry to furniture and home decor items and whenever I’m in the neighborhood of one of their seven locations I always stop in to check out their goods. The very best items are merchandised beautifully in the store windows and put up for auction on the Housing Works website. The cool thing is that Housing Works is more than just a chain of thrift shops…it’s a charity that benefits homeless and low-income people living with …
