Major shakeups in the publishing and interior design worlds today! Stephen Drucker, Editor-in-Chief of House Beautiful since October 2005 has just been named Editor-in-Chief of Town & Country. He begins his position on April 20. He succeeds Pamela Fiori who has been EIC of Town & Country since 1993 and will now become Editor-at-Large and work on Town & Country books and editorial projects.

On Monday evening I had the pleasure of attending Elle Decor’s second annual Women in Design event which celebrated five leading women in the design industry. The event featured a panel discussion moderated by editor-in-chief Margaret Russell with designers Holly Hunt, Michelle Nussbaumer, Kelly Wearstler and Charlotte Moss, who was honored with a special Vision Award. (Josie Natori was also one of Elle Décor’s five chosen women but she was unable to attend.) Charlotte Moss, whom I admire greatly, was the lively one of the bunch and kept the audience laughing. I picked up this Louis XV style armchair on eBay about a year ago…

This is what the chair looked like before I worked my magic on it. The photo doesn’t quite clearly illustrate what poor condition it was in before I refinished & reupholstered it. The gold paint was chipping, the seat was sagging and coming apart underneath, and the upholstery was completely dirty and dingy looking.
