People always ask me who my favorite interior designers are and one person that’s always on my list is British born, LA based designer Peter Dunham. I just love the global influences he brings into his work, the way he mixes patterns and texture, and the fact that his spaces exude refinement yet feel totally un-stuffy. I’m also a big fan of his textile line which is heavily influenced by Islamic and Indian culture. Peter has an amazing shop called Hollywood at Home, located in the heart of LA’s design district, where he sells his own fabrics and …

I recently returned from a week long trip to Los Angeles and I’m already wishing I was back there! I LOVE LA! I was in town for work and then extended my trip into a long weekend and had such an awesome time. I’ve been to LA many times over the years and never gave the city any serious thought but lately the sunshine, palm trees and laid back California lifestyle have begun to seduce me and I find myself daydreaming about living there. Here’s a recap of my week long trip. The post is quite …

Sorry for the lack of posts! Been insanely busy with work and have been traveling a ton. I’ve also been making lots of updates to my apartment and on top of that helping my best friend prepare for her wedding which was this past Saturday! It was a beautiful, intimate ceremony here in New York with just 50 people in attendance (Congrats Lizzy & Isa!). The bride and I have known each other sine we were six and have been inseparable best friends since freshman year in high school. I helped the her with much of her planning and also …

Jen West with her Labradoodle, amusingly named Truly Scrumptious!

Jen West is a talented interior designer based in Eugene, Oregon who I connected with through this very blog several months ago. We became instant pen pals, emailing back and forth, and when she first shared photos of her home with me, I was wowed by her work. She is definitely a designer to watch and I am very pleased to feature her here on So Haute. Jen’s designs incorporate a mix of traditional and modern and and are as warm and inviting as they are stylish and sophisticated. She has …

Last week I was in Santa Barbara for a quick business trip and when I say quick I mean less than 48 hours quick. I had a busy schedule but since I had never been to Santa Barbara before, I was determined to find time to visit a few shops. I did my research and the second I landed Tuesday afternoon I hopped in my rental and headed straight for Lillie Avenue in Summerland where I was told had some of the best home furnishing and antique shops in the area. By the time I actually made it to Lillie …
