Yesterday I appeared on WLNY/CBS New York’s morning show The Couch to talk about the latest trends and ideas for decorating your Christmas tree this year! Click to watch the segment and below are details on the three Christmas tree looks shown in the video. Just hover above the image for more info & links! I also want to give a huge thanks to the following brands that were featured: Pottery Barn, Target, Michael’s, One Kings Lane, Treetopia.com and Green Valley Christmas Trees. If you haven’t yet started decorating your christmas tree, I hope this inspires you with some fun & festive ideas!

This is a traditional Christmas look with a classic red and green color palette and a nostalgic feel. This is a live, fraser fir tree from Green Valley Christmas Trees which ships freshly cut trees straight to your door – perfect for apartment dwellers because you don’t have to worry about transporting it up flights of stairs or elevators. The vintage inspired ornaments, which are all from Target and One Kings Lane, bring back memories of Christmas past! So many retailers now are offering beautiful reproductions of vintage ornaments but you can also score beautiful vintage ornaments from eBay which is where I found many of the ornaments I use on my own tree. I got several boxes of beautiful, mercury glass vintage ornaments in excellent condition for something like $20 bucks! Another option for a true vintage style tree? Raid your grandmother’s Christmas collection! It’s sure to produce some gems!

This  look features an artificial evergreen tree with snow capped branches reminiscent of a tree you’d see while skiing in snow covered mountains. It’s adorned with silver, gold and mercury glass accents as well as a bit of tinsel for a luxe winter wonderland feel. The tree and all of the ornaments are from Pottery Barn! Another fun element is the tree skirt which is actually several sheepskin rugs from Ikea piled together. It’s so glam and luxurious! When you’re decorating your tree, coordinating your gift wrap with your tree color scheme is a must! I went with silver and gold matte paper with green twine wrapped around as embellishment. It’s such a chic and simple look! This is how I plan to wrap my presents this year. All of the gift wrap I used in this segment from CBS is from Michael’s which is having a 50% off gift wrap sale right now!

This final look is modern, glamorous and and very Carrie Bradshaw! It’s not all about a white Christmas and this black tree from Treetopia is dramatic and unexpectedly chic! Treetopia is a fantastic resource for artificial Christmas trees and if you’re looking for a tree in a non-traditional color, Treetopia has the best selection of colorful trees that I’ve seen all in one place. The ornaments are all from Target and were purchased in value packs which offer a larger quantity of ornaments for a great price. To create this look I used pink and silver ornaments from this set, as well as this one plus the ones you see above and simply edited out the colors I didn’t need. The simple glitter tree topper was only $5! And I just loved the silver and black damask gift wrap from Michael’s – you can find it in stores! It really helped to lend a feminine and glamorous feel to this look!

  1. The segment turned out great, you were awesome!!! Great job with the brands featured. If I were single, I would definitely do the pink and black tree 🙂 And tree number two looks a lot like my current tree, sheepskin too lol.
