Based in Gouda, Netherlands and led by principals Anne Noordam and Thong Lei, Decoration Empire creates timeless interiors with the perfect mix of styles, periods and worldly influences. Although their style is rooted in tradition, their spaces are thoroughly modern in feel. The firm’s philosophy dictates that it strives to create a sense of mystery and intrigue with each design. Elle magazine recently featured photos of singer Sheryl Crow’s New York City loft which I found quite charming. The loft is open and airy and evokes a feeling of cozy comfort and simplicity. The interiors take on an industrial meets vintage feel and is filled with many quirky treasures that Crowe has collected over time during her frequent flea marketing and vintage shopping excursions.

I just returned from a little mini vacay in Los Angeles and during my stay I had drinks & dinner at Soho House, the posh and super exclusive private members club with outposts in London, New York and Berlin.
