It looks like our favorite purveyor of ethnic printed textiles, Madeline Weinrib, is branching out. While flipping through the March issue of Oprah I came across this jacket:

Madeline Weinrib’s ikat jacket, made of natural fibers, is featured in an article about eco-chic clothing. I get that its hand woven and all but I really don’t think the $1600 price tag is justified. And I also think the print is a bit too bold for a piece of clothing.

A Madeline Weinrib Pillow

As much as I love the great way in which the worlds of fashion and interior design influence one another, I’m not sure I want to walk around looking like my favorite pillow. What do you think? Haute or Not?

  1. I have to say that I like some of Oscar’s ikat print dresses and flats. But, in general, yes, I prefer my ikat for pillows and upholstery.

  2. Hi Peak of Chic! I’ve seen some of the Oscar ikat pieces and they’re great…I would totally wear those flats. Still not sure if some of the prints on his dresses would flatter most women but they’re so beautiful! Oscar also has some great ikat pieces in his home line. Hmmm…maybe I should do a post!

  3. Hello from Canada! I must confess, I still prefer ‘solid’ clothes. No pattern, but that’s just me. Patterns for everything else!
