Lupita Nyong'o Nairobi Blue

Like the rest of the universe, I am completely smitten with Academy Award winner (!) Lupita Nyong’o. Aside from her undeniable talent and outstanding performance as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave, Lupita’s beauty, style and grace along with her Cinderella story has captured our hearts so it’s no surprise that all eyes were on her at the Oscars. The entire world was rooting for her to win the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. It’s also a fact that Lupita has been killing it on the red carpet this awards season so the world was also waiting …

Olivia Pope Apartment So Haute

Are you as obsessed with ABC’s Scandal as I am? I have been waiting with bated breath for the new episode which airs tonight and am giddy with excitement! I watched all of the sneak previews and am dying to know what’s happening with Mama Pope, can’t wait to see the drama ensue between Mellie and  Olivia, hear what bombshell Sally Langston is going to drop and, of course, see the Olivia/Fitz love story continue to unfold. This is seriously the best show on television. If you don’t watch Scandal, you won’t understand and you are seriously missing out on …

So Haute 2014 decor trends

In my latest TV segment I shared 5 home decor trends that I’m totally loving for 2014 along with some of my favorite products under $100 to illustrate the trends. When working within the tight time constraints of a morning show segment, it’s pretty tough to squeeze in all of the product details so here I’m recapping  all of the  trends and products that I featured (and a few similar substitutions) so you can shop the looks. I’m especially loving all of the marbleized items. Which trend is your favorite?

punk copy

This weekend I’m finally going to check out the Punk exhibit at The Met which everyone has been buzzing about since it opened in May. For the non-New Yorkers reading, the  Spring 2013 exhibit at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art explores the influence of punk culture on fashion from the early 70s through today as well as the designers who helped define the punk look. Think descostructed garments with spikes, studs, saftey pins, chains, zippers…you get the drift. Inspired by this unique and edgy style, here are some picks for your home that channel the …

Lee Radziwill Get the Look

Last week the online design world was abuzz over photos of Lee Radziwill’s Paris apartment that were recently featured in T Magazine. As the younger sister of Jackie Kennedy, a royal princess, prominent socialite, style icon and friend to luminaries like Truman Capote and Andy Warhol, Radziwill, 79, is a truly fascinating figure. Her inspiring Parisian apartment where she lives part-time is ultra-feminine with elegant French furnishings, pops of pink, chinoiserie florals and gilded bronze accents. Check out the mood board we put together below for ideas on how to get this look!

So Haute - Bar Carts (4)

 Photo via Lonny

One of my aboslute favorite pieces of occasional furniture is the always classic, highly versatile bar cart. In recent years, the bar cart has taken on a new multipurpose use in the home. Although it’s the perfect solution for those who love to entertain but don’t have room for a full bar, you don’t have to it just for serving drinks!  You can repurpose your bar cart as a console table, styled up with a chic stack of books and a vase of pretty flowers, as additional storage for your favorite dinnerware and tabletop pieces, or even …
