Showhouse season is winding down so what better time than to recap one of my favorites – The 2014 Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse. I’ve attended this showhouse for many years and I have to say, this year’s was the best yet and it was chock full of beautiful rooms by twenty-two of the nation’s most acclaimed designers and architects. Showhouses give designers the opportunity to execute their most creative and over-the-top design ideas without the limitations that a client project would have and here there was certainly no shortage of creativity and design inspiration on display. It was so hard to pick a favorite but I really loved the spaces by Darryl Carter, Carrier & Company, Alexa Hampton, Markham Roberts and Gideon Mendelson (More on Gideon’s room soon!)
